Layering is all about experimenting

Layering is one of my favorite ways to add dimension and interest to my outfits, especially when you’re dressing modestly. I love playing with monochrome looks or neutral colors, as they create a harmonious and balanced aesthetic. To make layering more exciting, I focus on texture—combining fabrics like satin and cashmere or pairing oversized pieces with fitted ones. For example, I’ll wear a full black outfit and pair it with eye-catching shoes, or I’ll add a voluminous skirt over wide-leg pants for a modern twist on classic modest dressing. It’s all about experimenting with shapes and textures to create a look that feels fresh but still modest.

Pro tip: Try using instant hijabs under turtlenecks or high-neck shirts. It keeps everything neat, comfortable, and smooth—without extra layers. A cozy, stylish hack I swear by.

Revamping Scandi style, my way

I grew up in Scandinavia, where modesty and minimalism are deeply rooted in the culture. It was ingrained in me to blend in, but for some reason, I’ve always been drawn to the simplicity and elegance of minimal fashion. Over the years, I’ve realized that I don’t need to follow trends to express myself, and my style has evolved into something that is uniquely mine.

"Scandinavian modest fashion has allowed me to stay true to myself while embracing the ever-changing fashion world. It’s the kind of style that feels right no matter the season, and I’ve stuck with it because it resonates with me on a deeper level."

COS is my go-to brand. They epitomise Scandinavian simplicity and offer a modern, minimalistic aesthetic that deeply resonates with me. Their designs are both modest and chic, with a focus on quality fabrics and timeless silhouettes that complement modest fashion effortlessly.

My must-have fashion essentials

My must-have fashion essentials

When it comes to building a core wardrobe, I believe in investing in long-lasting, versatile pieces that elevate without effort.

  • Black long coat – A long black coat is timeless and versatile, perfect for layering over any outfit, whether you’re heading to a business meeting or a casual outing.
  • Perfect crisp white shirt – It’s a wardrobe staple for me because it can be dressed up or down, and its clean lines create a polished look no matter the occasion.
  • Wide tailored suit pants, preferably in dark grey – These pants offer comfort and style in one. The wide-leg silhouette is flattering and pairs perfectly with a variety of tops, from blazers to oversized sweaters.

"Coats are a huge part of my wardrobe, especially during the colder months, they instantly elevate any outfit adding sophistication and warmth. In summer, i switch to structured, voluminous skirts. They add elegant movement and volume maintaining a modest silhouette."

What's on my wish list

Right now, I’m craving a butter yellow abaya. I love the softness of the color, and it would be a beautiful addition to my wardrobe for the warmer months.

"I would love to see more modest fashion houses blending creativity, elegance, and inclusivity—with high-quality fabrics made for longevity, not just seasonal trends. I think there is a real opportunity to bring back investment pieces—items that last not just season to season, but year after year, both in style and durability.”

My Style has taught me

"I don’t need to follow trends to feel confident. It’s about finding what works for me—pieces that make me feel comfortable, confident, and true to myself."

Confidence for me comes from balance. I’m most comfortable in a silhouette that’s loose and flowy, so when I do wear fitted pieces (which is rare), I always balance it out with something oversized or structured on top or bottom. This ensures that I feel both comfortable and stylish.

I'm inspired by the Swedish concept of Lagom, which translates to “just right.” My style reflects that—timeless, clean, and intentional.
